Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 9, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of WhoRunsNaija (“WhoRunsNaija,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website, business listings, leaderboard, bidding features, payment features, and related services.

By accessing or using WhoRunsNaija, submitting a business, or placing a bid, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

1. About WhoRunsNaija

WhoRunsNaija is a public, paid competitive business leaderboard that allows participating businesses, brands, creators, and other eligible entities to compete for positions on a publicly displayed leaderboard.

Leaderboard positions are determined according to WhoRunsNaija's ranking rules, including verified bids or payments associated with participating businesses.

Important: A business's position on WhoRunsNaija is not an independent endorsement, review, certification, quality assessment, or determination that the business is objectively better than another business.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use paid features of WhoRunsNaija.

If you submit or bid on behalf of a business, organization, brand, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to act on its behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring that your participation complies with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal business policies.

3. Business Listings

When submitting a business to WhoRunsNaija, you agree to provide accurate and reasonably current information.

Business listings may include publicly displayed information such as:

You may not knowingly submit a business using false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, impersonating, or unauthorized information.

WhoRunsNaija may correct, reject, suspend, merge, or remove listings that violate these Terms or interfere with the integrity or operation of the service.

4. Authority to Submit a Business

You should only claim, submit, modify, or represent a business when you are authorized to do so or when the information submitted is legitimate public business information.

Submitting a business to WhoRunsNaija does not grant you ownership of that business's trademarks, names, logos, social media accounts, or other intellectual property.

We may request additional information to verify a listing or a user's authority to manage it.

5. How Rankings Work

Businesses compete for leaderboard positions through verified bids.

A business's ranking is determined according to the ranking mechanics displayed or otherwise specified by WhoRunsNaija.

Rankings may change at any time when:

A displayed ranking is therefore not guaranteed to remain in the same position.

6. Bids

A bid represents an amount you agree to pay toward the ranking of the selected business.

Before completing a transaction, you are responsible for verifying:

A successful bid does not guarantee that a business will retain a particular position for any specific period.

Another participant may subsequently place a qualifying bid and move ahead of your business.

7. Ranking Movement

WhoRunsNaija may structure bidding so that a business competes against the business immediately above it or otherwise advances according to the ranking rules in effect at the time of the transaction.

The amount required to advance may change as other businesses place bids.

If leaderboard positions change while a payment is being processed, WhoRunsNaija may apply the successfully verified amount to the selected business's bid total and recalculate its resulting position based on the current leaderboard.

8. Payments

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Paystack or other processors supported by WhoRunsNaija.

A bid is not considered successfully completed until the applicable payment has been verified.

You authorize the applicable payment provider to process the amount you approve during checkout.

WhoRunsNaija may retain transaction information including payment references, amounts, currencies, payment statuses, business identifiers, and timestamps.

We do not guarantee the availability of any particular payment provider or payment method.

9. Refunds

Unless required by applicable law, successfully processed and applied bids are generally non-refundable because the payment immediately affects a public competitive leaderboard and may influence the positions and bidding decisions of other participants.

A refund will not ordinarily be provided merely because:

We may, at our discretion or where required by law, issue refunds for duplicate transactions, technical errors, unauthorized transactions, or other exceptional circumstances.

If a transaction is refunded, reversed, charged back, or determined to be fraudulent, WhoRunsNaija may reverse the corresponding bid amount and recalculate the leaderboard.

10. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe a payment was made incorrectly or without authorization, contact WhoRunsNaija before initiating a chargeback where reasonably possible.

Fraudulent chargebacks, payment manipulation, or attempts to obtain leaderboard benefits without valid payment may result in suspension or removal from WhoRunsNaija.

We may adjust leaderboard totals and positions following refunds, reversals, chargebacks, payment disputes, or fraud investigations.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use WhoRunsNaija to:

12. Business Names, Trademarks and Third-Party Content

If you believe a listing improperly uses your intellectual property or misrepresents your business, contact us.

We do not guarantee that WhoRunsNaija will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or free from delays.

15. Ranking and Technical Errors

We make reasonable efforts to accurately process verified payments and calculate leaderboard positions.

However, technical errors, network failures, delayed payment notifications, duplicate events, database errors, third-party outages, or other circumstances may temporarily cause inaccurate information to appear.

WhoRunsNaija may correct leaderboard totals, payment statuses, or positions when an error is identified.

No participant acquires a permanent right to a ranking position because of an obvious technical or processing error.

16. No Guarantee of Business Results

WhoRunsNaija provides a competitive promotional and visibility platform.

We do not guarantee that participation will result in:

You are responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for your business.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

18. Intellectual Property

Except for third-party content, the WhoRunsNaija website, branding, design, software, leaderboard presentation, graphics, text, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to WhoRunsNaija and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

This includes, where legally permitted, losses associated with ranking changes, lost business opportunities, lost revenue, third-party actions, service interruptions, or reliance on leaderboard information.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WhoRunsNaija and its owners, operators, affiliates, employees, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the service, infringement of third-party rights, or unauthorized submission of business information.

22. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and disclose information associated with the service.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes to WhoRunsNaija, our business practices, payment or ranking systems, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.

Your continued use of WhoRunsNaija after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by and interpreted according to applicable law.

Any mandatory rights or remedies available to you under applicable consumer protection or other laws remain unaffected where those rights cannot legally be waived.
